February 2015 Events at Paaras Sikh Youth Center

We have an exciting array of things happening at the Paaras Youth Center. Nearly every weekend, we have thought-provoking programs for you and and the entire family. Join us and enrich your family, enrich your community, and enrich yourself!

Bhagat Puran Singh Movie Night 7-9pm on 2/20/15 for Movie Night – Before you see Eh Janam Tumhare Lekhe (or after!), bring the family for a discussion and documentary on the true life of Bhagat Puran Singh of Pingalwara - join us Friday evening. We'll bring the popcorn and soda/water. You bring your excitement and ideas. RSVP here for more details and hope you'll join us!

EVER WANTED TO LEARN DHOL? This is your chance. We are starting a 4-part dhol class (come to all four, try out just one, but do come!) every other Saturday from 10-11am. The dates are Feb 21, March 7, March 21, and April 4. Dhol 101 is open to ALL - from 12 to 112, you're never to old (or young!) to learn all the basics. To UC, JC, or CSU? How do I pick? For all high schoolers and parents, join us on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 5-7pm. Getting ready for college? Well this workshop is the place for you, come and ask any questions you/your parents may have about college and choose the path that is right for you. We will have a panel discussion with current students attending Fresno City, Fresno State, and UC Davis that will share why and how they made their decisions. This panel will be hosted by me, your Paaras Youth Center director, Iqbal Singh (who also went to Fresno City and UC Davis). Please RSVP for more details and make sure you join us!

TUTORING for your kids! Get more information about our rates, our population is growing. Send your HS student to us 4 days a week for personalized help. We already have success stories moving struggling D students to B level and even helping those excelling, better prepared for their upcoming AP exams. Parents their is NO greater investment you can make than your children's education. Whether they are struggling or excelling, we are culturally sensitive and form relationships that go far beyond the normal tutor-student relationship. We have no failures because we will not let your student fail. There is nothing we won't do to help them succeed. More than a tutor, they gain an older brother/sister, who understands them, mentors them, challenges, and most of all just really cares. Message me for more details, and I'll make a personal visit to your house to share the exciting opportunities.

Whether it's your first time or you've been coming for a long time, join us at the Paaras Youth Center - just come for a visit and bring your kids. We are here for you. To serve (seva) and to love (simran) with our community (sangat), this is our duty (dharam) at Paaras Youth Center. Join us!
