On Saturday, December 26 at around 7am, a 68-yeard old man, Sardar Amrik Singh Bal, was attacked by 2 young men near the Brawley/Shields area. They attempted to kill him with their car, and then after hitting him with it, they got out to beat him. Due to the Guru's Grace, Sardar Amrik Singh has been released from the hospital and is back with his family, despite suffering a broken collar bone and other injuries. We stand with our grandfather, Sardar Amrik Singh, because we know it could have been anyone of us.
The attackers yelled "Why are you here?" We are asking the community to come together and say, "Because this is our home!"
This isn't the first time this has happened in our Fresno community, nor will it probably be the last. So we ask the community to come together and share in our collective wisdom and chardikala (eternal optimism) ideas and possibilities for our future. We are asking the entire sangat to join us on Tuesday evening, December 29, 2015 from 6-8pm for this Townhall Meeting at the Paaras Youth Center at 5470 W. Spruce Ave. #103; Fresno, CA 93722.
