The Piram Pyala ("The Cup of Love") is an annual initiative by the Jakara Movement to explore the feminine voice. In Gurbani, the Gurus often explored their female voices to describe the relationship of Love with the Divine. The Piram Pyala is a metaphor reflecting on the importance of unconditional love. It is described as a Gift of the Guru by Guru Amardas. The noted scholar Bhai Gurdas emphasizes that the Piram Pyala is served and taken together in the Sangat (community) and is the path to reflect on our past, present, and future. Join us for a night of spoken word, art, performances, and expression as we listen, smile, and cry - together - as we share from the Piram Pyala. This is a free, all-ages event, so feel free to invite your friends and family! If you are interested in presenting/performing a piece but don't know how to start, we are hosting writing workshops at a university near you! If you are interested in performing a piece please submit here.
