'You have a misl in Minnesota?'  Oh the countless times I've heard this when I talk about our misls.  My response?  'Yes! They are superstars!'.  Whether it was Ruppa never giving up (even when she was the only one in the misl), to Gurpreet asking for ways to diversify their projects, to Rajin asking for fundraising ideas, these individuals are dedicated, creative, and always up for a challenge. Today Misl Minnestoa has a council, regular events, and is working with other volunteers to host our first Lalkaar Midwest in Chicago (more details in the coming weeks)!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to be a part of the Minneapolis area sangat. The volunteers, parents, participants, and sangat are incredibly supportive of any initiative that our council has established.  The Minnesota community, in true Sikh spirit (and embodying Minnesota Nice), opened their hearts and homes to me. Every time I visit a community I experience overwhelming generosity and caring.   I am always treated like a member of the sangat.  

It reiterates to me that:

Wherever my True Guru goes and sits, that place is beautiful, O Divine Ruler.

Thank you to everyone in Minnesota!  I left recharged and motivated.  I look forward to many more visits and the exciting work you will do in 2015.
