Your Voice. Your Story. Your Sisters.
Often times, the voices of Sikh women are forgotten or sidelined. We see our mothers, sisters, friends, daughters, wives, but we do not hear them. Living in diaspora, surrounded by an aggressive Western feminism, cannot veil the very real marginalization that Sikh women still face. All is not okay. But we fight for change, for a voice, for respect, for recognition of the foundational equality that Guru Nanak put forth.
Kaur Voices will be an opportunity for those voices to be heard. The evening will be a time to share the stories, divulge experiences, discuss issues we care about, speak our minds and open our hearts. It will be a night of expression and emotion, of sharing and giving, learning and understanding.
