This bill will bring protections against caste discrimination in California. Proposed by Senator Aisha Wahab, SB-403 was approved on May 11, 2023 by the California Senate on a 34-1 vote. It continues through the Assembly before it will reach the Governor's desk to become law.
ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਵਿਤ ਸੈਨੇਟ ਬਿਲ ੪੦੩ (SB - 403) ਵਾਰੇ ਤੱਥ ਅਤੇ ਸਹੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਇਹ ਬਿਲ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਤ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਤਕਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਬੇਅ ਏਰੀਆ ਤੋਂ ਸੈਨੇਟਰ ਆਇਸ਼ਾ ਵਹਾਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਸੈਨੇਟ ਬਿਲ ੪੦੩ (SB - 403) ਨੂੰ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਸੈਨੇਟ ਨੇ 34-1 ਦੀ ਵੋਟ ਅਧੀਨ 11 ਮਈ 2023 ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਅੱਗੇ ਇਸ ਬਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਅਸੈਂਬਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤੌਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਗਵਰਨਰ ਦੇ ਹਸਤਾਖਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
