Sikh Children’s Camp: Age 5–15
Giani Ditt Singh Day: One Nishan Sahib; One Sikh Nation
Regional Lead: Taranamol Kaur
It was only about a century ago, when so many Sikhs had forgotten their Guru's message that Giani Ditt Singh roar awakened the Sikhs from their slumber. Calling for justice and equality, he derided the naqli (fake) Sikhs that discriminated based on caste and challenged the Singhs and Kaurs of the Guru to live up to the Guru's message to Build Begampura, as penned by Bhagat Ravidas Ji.
This fall Jakara Juniors comes together to celebrate Giani Ditt Singh Day: One Nishan Sahib; One Sikh Nation. The workshop is open to all Sikhs, ages 5-15. We are seeking counselors from those that are college age and up as well as high school juniors and seniors. Whether you need service learning hours, a letter of recommendation, or most importantly an opportunity to serve your community, we need your help.
