Governor Newsom’s veto of SB-509 was not just an act of political cowardice; it is a mirror held up to us. We discussed building our power and capacity. One key step is building relationships and learning about the Governor candidates early. This is that first step. As many candidates will emerge for Governor, Lt. Governor, Treasurer, and other positions. Now is the time to formulate the questions we seek to ask. We must have political realism in this state and be far less emotional in our community voice.
