Join SHSS and the Jakara COVID-19 Team this Friday, April 23rd at 1:30PM PST to learn more about COVID-19 updates such as the vaccine, masks, social distancing, the fourth wave, and COVID-19 variants! We will be joined by the experts on the ground, Manreet and Manpinder Kaur!
Manreet Kaur is a Community Health Worker for the Jakara COVID Team and Fresno COVID-19 Equity Project. During the pandemic, Manreet worked on the frontlines to assist in free COVID testing, provided social and financial support, contact tracing services for the Punjabi population, and community education and outreach. Her current efforts also focus on organizing vaccination sites, administering COVID-19 vaccines to underserved communities, and expanding COVID-19 services across California.
Raised in the small town of Fowler California, Manpinder had seen health disparities in her community, and growing up she always wanted to find a way to help bridge that gap. Manpinder then earned her Bachelors of Science specializing in Health sciences from California State University Fresno in 2020. As a Community Health Worker working with the Covid Equity Project, she helps our punjabi and minority communities gain access to Covid Testing and Vaccination sites, and educates the community on current and up to date information on Covid 19 topics.
It's up to us to slow the spread of COVID-19! RSVP now to receive the zoom link. We look forward to seeing you all there!
