Following in the foot steps of other Punjabi language programs in high schools such as James Logan High School (Union City, CA), Yuba City High School (Yuba City, CA), River Valley High School (Yuba City), Livingston High School (Livingston, CA), Kerman High School (Kerman, CA) and Central High School (Fresno, CA), we the undersigned want to see the Punjabi language taught in Clovis Unified.

Punjabi-speakers are one of the fastest growing demographic groups in Clovis Unified. With significant populations at Clovis East and Clovis North, students of Punjabi descent along with their non-Punjabi peers would love to engage, flourish, and develop their skills in the Punjabi language. Clovis Unified would be a path-breaker in the region offering multiple "Asian languages" including Chinese (Mandarin), Hmong, and possibly Punjabi. 

We have had ongoing conversations with Clovis Unified district office leadership and school board members that have been positive about the possible coarse offering. We now move forward to make this initiative a reality.
