Jakara Movement's annual conference Lalkaar is coming to Houston, Texas! Join us for Kaur Voices to exalt, express, and empower. Lalkaar is a 4-day conference (Thursday-Sunday) consisting of workshops, activities, and evening social events to allow for Sikhs 18+ an opportunity to engage, discuss, and build connections.
Over five hundred years ago, Guru Nanak proclaimed, without woman, there is nothing. However all too often, women are treated as if they are nothing.
Inspired by our past, yet we are not doomed to live in the past.
Galvanized by Gurbani and heartened by our history (tarikh), revolutions start with self through community. This year we revisit Kaur Voices to recommit to challenging privileges, empowering the feminine voices in all of us, and fighting all forms of oppression.
