About the March

From October 9th to November 1st, 2024 join the Panth as we unite in solidarity with others and begin the "Nirbhau and Niyaa Morcha (Fearless for Justice March) from Bakersfield to Sacramento (350 miles) on foot, building power and community along the way.

ਆਉ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ 9 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਤੋਂ 1 ਨਵੰਬਰ 2024 ਤੱਕ 1984 ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ 'ਨਿਰਭਉ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਮੋਰਚੇ' ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਈਏ। ਇਹ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਬੇਕਰਜ਼ਫੀਲਡ ਤੋਂ ਸੈਕਰਾਮੈਂਟੋ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ 350 ਮੀਲ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਇੱਕ ਪੈਦਲ ਮਾਰਚ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੈਅ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਹਰ ਕਦਮ ਕੌਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

We will be walking along Highway 99 (California's GT Road) on this pathway made famous by our Mexican farmworker brothers and sisters, in their fight for freedom and dignity. We will be stopping amongst Sangats along the way, each night powering ourselves through Shabad, Sangat, and Seva with a feeling of Santokh and inspired by our Shaheeds.

ਅਸੀਂ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹਾਈਵੇਅ 99 (ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਜੀ.ਟੀ.ਰੋਡ) ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਬਣੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਾਂਗੇ। ਇਸ ਰਸਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਮੈਕਸੀਕਨ ਭੈਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਸੀਂ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਗਤ ਕੋਲ ਪੜਾਅ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਰੋਜ਼ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਂਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਰਾਤ ਸੰਗਤੀ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਬਦ, ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ।

On this momentous occasion, we ask you and your family to join us during the march and host us in your local community as the Morcha approaches your city. We will be working with partners, schools, elected officials, and more. Join for the week; join for the weekend; and meet us in Sacramento!

ਅਸੀਂ ਉਮੀਦ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਮਾਰਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਵੋਗੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਹਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਡੀ ਕਮਿਊਨਿਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ, ਸਕੂਲਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਜਨਤਾ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਜ ਦੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਲਈ ਸਿਰਤੋੜ ਯਤਨ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ।

ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ, ਵੀਕਐਂਡ, ਹਫਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ, ਆਉ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੋ ਜੀ।

Every evening join us at 6pm with your family for kirtan, katha, art workshops, dhadhi jatha, legal help clinics, medical and health clinics, vichaar/conversations, and more.

ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਥੀ ਹੋਈ ਤਰੀਕ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮ 6 ਵਜੇ ਕਥਾ, ਕੀਰਤਨ, ਕਲਾ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ, ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਲੀਨਿਕ, ਸਿਹਤ ਕਲੀਨਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਥਕ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਵੋ ਜੀ।

The goals of the march within the community include Panthic Unity and - despite the return of a price on a Sikh's head - a recommitment to Guru Tegh Bahadur's principle ਭੈ ਕਾਹੂ ਕਉ ਦੇਤ ਨਹਿ ਨਹਿ ਭੈ ਮਾਨਤ ਆਨ ॥.

Outside the community, the goals are:

1. 1. Call for the US Congress to recognize the events of November 1984 as a genocide against the Sikh community by the Indian State
2. 2. The need to pass transnational repression (TNR) prevention laws at federal and state levels to ensure democratic protection of all US residents against foreign interference
