j.Kollegiates

j.Kollegiates includes our education initiatives.  Although Sikhs make up one of the largest South Asian groups in the US, we are much less respresented in higher educational institutions than other South Asian groups.  The Jakara Movement encourages all Sikh students to reach their highest potential.  In pursuance of this goal, we have initiated “The Study Hall” (more details to follow), the Bhai Amrik Singh Scholarship for Excellence (High School students), and the Bibi Upkar Kaur Scholarship for Excellence (Community College transfers).

The deadline for applying to both scholarships is August 15, 2009.
