As regional lead(s) you will be the primary contact(s) between the Project Leads for Jakara Junior and your
Gurdwara. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Contacting your local gurdwara (ASAP) to see what dates are available-this is the first step! Be sure to take your academic and work schedule into consideration. Saturday usually is the best day to hold the camp.
- At least a month prior to the start of the camps the Project Lead(s) will contact you with information regarding the camp-this includes content and registration info.
- There will be weekly conference calls a few weeks prior to the camps to go over content and address any questions and issues
- Organizing & training volunteers for the camp (they will need to attend at least one content training session prior to the camp)
- Organizing registration at the Gurdwara at least 4 weeks prior to the date of the camp
- Organizing supplies, lunch and a snack for the camp day.
- Many of the responsibilities above can be delegated to volunteers who would like to have a greater role.
As a volunteer the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Attending at least 1 content training session prior to the camp
- Understanding the content in its entirety
- Understanding the basics of facilitating
